...That's Not What I Meant to Say

To my surprise I was accused of writing an Autism Blog recently, and on review I does kind of look that way....

SO:

I guess I began in mid-rant, the issue was/is childhood vaccinations which protect Children against truly dangerous diseases both the acute disease and the relatively rare but devastating long term complications. A high rate of vaccine coverage and the resultant decrease in the disease present in the community protects everyone.

The 'vaccines cause Autism' crowd through lack of understanding and/or drive for personal profit is driving vaccine rates down and THAT is what prompted my autism rant.

My trigger for this was watching two infants over the past 10 year try very hard to die of Pertussis, contracted from a family member who didn't get immunizations and rising reports of vaccine preventable diseases linked to decreasing rates of Immunizations.

Wondering about where the world goes next.

 I would hate to try to put a number on the times I have heard the POTUS referred to as 'The Leader of the Free World' over a life time. At one time it was common, even by news anchors on national news broadcasts. Leaders LEAD, for good or ill. No where in the history I studied is there a strong compromiser praised for averting crisis or saving a nation. Was this last election a referendum on the US role as a world superpower? Do we want to not do that any more? Those currently governing with that assumption need to say so, or maybe they did.
