SO:
I guess I began in mid-rant, the issue was/is childhood vaccinations which protect Children against truly dangerous diseases both the acute disease and the relatively rare but devastating long term complications. A high rate of vaccine coverage and the resultant decrease in the disease present in the community protects everyone.
The 'vaccines cause Autism' crowd through lack of understanding and/or drive for personal profit is driving vaccine rates down and THAT is what prompted my autism rant.
My trigger for this was watching two infants over the past 10 year try very hard to die of Pertussis, contracted from a family member who didn't get immunizations and rising reports of vaccine preventable diseases linked to decreasing rates of Immunizations.
